Spray and laminate coatings, mainly based on vinyl ester, phenolic or furan resins, as well as special epoxy resin formulations in some cases, are used in areas of process engineering plant components with permanent chemical and thermal loads.
In storage and transhipment areas, the coatings are mainly used on floor surfaces and upstands to protect against abrasion and short-term exposure to chemicals. These special, sometimes multi-layer systems are primarily based on PMMA, epoxy and polyurethane resins.
For certain applications, multi-layer coating systems are required even without an additional, mechanical protective layer, such as basins of storage tanks in the chemical industry.
