Tile- and brick lining have the main task of protecting the sealing layer, consisting of a rubber or synthetic resin coating, against thermal and mechanical stress in chemically stressed containers, apparatus, pipelines, channels and pits. They also increase the longevity of the corrosion protection system, as they prevent direct contact of the aggressive media with the sealing layer.

Tile or bricks based on ceramics, carbon, graphite, cast basalt or silicon carbide are used, which are laid in synthetic resin mortar based on furan, phenolic, vinyl ester and epoxy resins or based on silicates.
